The Genesis of LSI

Summary: The LSI Behind the Win podcast began as an internal communications tactic to keep the organization connected during the height of the COVID-19 pandemic. Since then, employees and clients alike, have asked us to share the knowledge and science behind business development to help them find success.

LSI was founded in 1972 by Jerry Slatter, along with Wayne Fry, Everett Judd, Diane Campbell, and Jean Bettridge. All five of these original principals were World War II veterans and former government employees. Jerry and Wayne met soon after the war at Hill Air Force Base, became fast friends, and founded LSI after a long career in the military.

The purpose of this podcast series is to provide a repository of business science, stories, and information to provide listeners with the tools, templates, and recommendations to make business practitioners more effective in their craft. Our repository will include information about business development strategy, processes, capture and planning, proposal development, program execution, business life-cycles, grants, economic development, social impact, and information straight from experienced practitioners and industry thought-leaders.

We will go wide and deep with each of our topics. We look forward to exploring the history, science, and opportunities in business development with our listeners.
